Summer 2012: a signature season at Costa Smeralda.

During the summer months there are plenty of events celebrating the 50th anniversary of the destination founded by Prince Karim Aga Khan in 1962.

	May 4-6, 2012 The Porto Cervo Wine Festival will host the best Italian wine producers where top wineries will be selected by leading national and international wine critics. 	June - September The hotels Cala di Volpe, Cervo, Pitrizza and Romazzino will host the special photo exhibition "50 years of natural glamour": 40 images from the personal archive of Nello di Salvo, who actually photographed the untouched stretch of land for His Highness the Aga Khan and later documented the Porto Cervo’ s golden years. Each property will host ten exclusive images in a lively and sparkling public space where the essence of summer is captured with history of the Coast.

	June, 21- September, 27 Eating with the stars: the stars of Italian cuisine, who are part of Chic (Charming Italian Chef), will be alternating every Thursday, from June through September, at the Cala di Volpe, Cervo, Pitrizza and Romazzino restaurants. 	July 16, 2012 The Hotel Cala di Volpe will host the biggest star of contemporary rock: Elton John. 	August 11, 2012 On August 11 the spotlight will be on Ne-Yo: American singer-songwriter, record producer, dancer and actor, he is the R&B music star who won worldwide success with the famous Closer, Beautiful Monster, Because of You, Miss Independent and Give Me Everything, just to name few. 	August 14, 2012 Hotel Pitrizza: from an aperitif on the terrace overlooking the stunning Liscia di Vacca Bay, to dinner by the spectacular pool with the culinary finesse of Chef Maurizio Locatelli, the underlying theme of the evening will be the ‘60s and ‘70s, with music and songs of the years as a soundtrack to the mid-summer evening.
	August 15, 2012 The Hotel Romazzino will celebrate the mid-summer night with an evening dedicated to the 60 atmospheres: take a step back in time to relive the colors, soundtracks and styles that were the backdrop to the birth of the Costa Smeralda. For the special occasion, the Barbecue Restaurant dresses up with the best tradition of Mediterranean specialties and will be accompanied by the revival music cover band.
	August 25, 2012 On Saturday 25 the Hotel Cala di Volpe hosts a special dancing dinner in the enchanting Barbecue Restaurant by the pool: the buffet dinner with the Mediterranean specialties prepared by the Chefs Franco Guardone and Antonio Vallana will be accompanied by the music of the fabulous Live Experience cover band.
	September 15 - 16, 2012 Costa Smeralda will open its doors for the 4th edition of the Porto Cervo Food Festival: a special annual event which will feature the cuisine from top chefs using the best Sardinian and Italian meats and produce.
