On July 20th, the spotlight at the Cala di Volpe falls on Jay Kay who continues to fly higher than ever with his band Jamiroquai. The Grammy-winning, chart-topper’s Travelling Without Moving album remains the best-selling funk CD ever, with 11 million copies flying off the shelves. Jay Kay’s sound may have evolved between his first studio album, Emergency on Planet Earth, in 1993 and his latest, Rock Dust Light Star released two years ago, but his recipe for success hasn’t changed: he remains the master of transforming melodies that work brilliantly unplugged, into powerfully irresistible funky grooves.
Costa Smeralda regulars and guests alike will dance the night away to the likes of Space Cowboy, Virtual Insanity and Cosmic Girl.
The concert takes place after a stunning buffet gala dinner, once again laid on by the extraordinarily talented chefs Guardone and Vallana.
On August 13th the Costa Smeralda welcomes Hip-Hop Soul queen Mary J. Blige. The Bronx-born singer has sold over 50 million albums in the course of a long and successful career. In a night of music and dancing at the Cala di Volpe’s poolside, Mary J. Blige will be showcasing the fruit of an extraordinary musical journey that has evolved into a unique mix of soul, hip hop and classic melody. A gritty sound with strong urban roots she’s been developing since her first worldwide hit My Life in 1994.
The Cala di Volpe audience can expect to hear a number of greatest hits, including Family Affair, Be Without You, One and Everything, on the poolside after a gala buffet dinner created by the Cala’s legendary chefs Guardone and Vallana.
